2013 Update

FEB 23, 2013: I haven't really had time to update this blog in over a year, so for anyone stopping by, here's a quick rundown of what I've been up to.

I've probably missed a few projects, but those were the highlights. Someday, when I can catch a break, this will all be replaced with a beautiful shiny website. Until then, why not check out my game Icarus or watch my short film Red Button Day? Or follow me on Twitter like all the cool kids are doing these days?

As always, feel free to get in touch at sagan.yee@gmail.com

GAME: Icarus

Your father was a genius. Who the hell are you?

Icarus is a game with no flying in it. There is no combat, no scoreboards, and negligible (so far) puzzle-solving. I like to call it "an interactive fiction disguised as a top-down adventure game" due to all the reading involved. It is currently a work in progress.

The game was created for the Difference Engine Initiative, round 1, Sept-Oct 2011.  It is my first dedicated attempt at making a computer game.  The art was created using Adobe Flash and Photoshop; the game engine was built using Stencyl.

CHARACTER DESIGN: Victor and Qninde

Character sketches from a personal project. The design of "VICTOR" was based on an original design by good friend Michael Janzen and refined by me in the following drawings.

Dogma Lipsynch Test 1: Bartleby

Soundclip is from the 1999 Kevin Smith film "Dogma", featuring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as fallen angels trying to get back into Heaven. Animated in Flash, comped in After Effects.

"Had we been given free will, we could ignore the pain like they do but NO! We're SERVANTS!"

RED BUTTON DAY - Graduate Film

Red Button Day - Graduate Film from Sagan Yee on Vimeo.

A malfunctioning particle accelerator causes thousands of black holes to consume the city of Toronto! A short animated film inspired by CERN's Large Hadron Collider. Graduate project, Sheridan College 2011. Produced with Adobe Flash, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere.
